I could get used to this being in the kitchen thing.

I made dinner tonight! I've been doing so more and more often, and I really enjoy it. I think the people around me do too, especially my dad (who is supposed to be in charge of cooking around here). Francisco, I think, is glad to eat something that he didn't have to cook for himself after a long day slaving in the kitchen at work. The picture is not my own, but mine looked almost as good! Click on the picture for a link to the recipe on Kraft's food & family website. I hope someday to be such a great cook that I don't need recipes or I've made up my own, but today is not that day, my friend. I need some real cookbooks!
Now that I've gone and written an ad for Kraft...

Dear Basil,

After all these years, I'm glad I finally know that it is you I love most about Italian.

Love,
M

An Introduction (and some favors)

After spending most of my time over the past two months online, either looking for work or searching for wedding ideas while pretending to look for work, I have finally decided to start a blog. Here I can post the fruits of my wedding planning labor and share information about my life as it unfolds (especially useful when trying to keep in touch with college friends that live in Sweden and Alaska).

As of today, I have applied for many jobs ranging from Petsmart cashier to a clerical position at a junior high and have only been called for one interview. That interview was last week, and it would seem that I need to keep rolling out the applications. No such luck with jobs has led me to believe that I really need to 'go back to school'. My application to University of St. Francis in Joliet is almost complete, and I am sure that I will excel in the Elementary Education Certification and Masters Program being that I am accepted and am able to find the much needed funds to pay tuition.

Today, I found these adorable favor boxes at Beau-coup. I am particularly fond of the white floral and white quilted and am seriously considering paying a little more than I had planned for favors just to use these little guys.

xoxo,
M
